The Pliocene period is one of the most "modern" prehistoric time periods. It is famous for the giant shark, Megalodon and the only time Great white sharks and Megalodon swam the oceans together.

The pliocene period started approximately 30 million years ago and ended nearly 3 million years ago with an ice age that extincted the huge shark.

The land of the earth during this time looked exactly like todays earth.

Life forms in the PlioceneEdit

The land had formed many of todays animals like Rhinoceros, Kangaroos and Pigs. There is also debate on whether human ancestors has evolved by then. [ref]
